Earlier this month, Enginetech was in Las Vegas at the AAPEX and SEMA show.

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show takes place October 31 – November 4, 2022, at the Las Vegas Convention Center and hosts, ostensibly, the entire auto industry under one roof. The SEMA show floor alone convers nearly one million square feet, and it feels almost impossible to see all of it in just a few days. From modern muscle cars, classic builds, drifting sports cars, outdoor vehicle trends, and even engine building competitions – there’s a lot to take in a SEMA.

The expected attendance figure for SEMA 2022 was 130,000 people! This year, the show was forecasted to be 30% larger than previous years! SEMA 2022 featured over 1,800 exhibitors from all over the world, and about 2,000 vehicles.

However, SEMA is only one show. The Aftermarket Auto Products Expo (AAPEX) was happening simultaneously in the Venetian expo center on the Las Vegas strip and concentrates more on the industrial side of the auto industry.

Although dwarfed by the goliath that is SEMA, AAPEX hosts over 4,000 automotive professionals and is focused on aftermarket products. These auto professionals range from companies like Enginetech, to auto value and “bumper to bumper” businesses. Each company arrives ready and eager to discuss the latest products, new service techniques, and the overall future of the automotive industry.

It was here that Enginetech met with our beloved customers and connected with even more companies to share the advantages of being an Enginetech customer in our ever-transforming industry.

Enginetech met with many of our customers at the AAPEX and EMA shows.

Our team had a wonderful time at the show. For many of our show veterans, it was nice to see so much turn out after a couple of trying years. For our newest addition to the team, and the person writing this article, seeing the show for the first time was incredible. It was not just the scale of the show that was impressive, however. Witnessing the passion of those in our industry and hearing their stories of why they do the work they do was extremely motivating. It’s clear that this industry is moving in exciting new directions, and those who attended these shows are at the forefront of it all.

To those planning on SEMA and AAPEX 2023, we’ll see you there next year!
