Hey there, Enginetech pals! In this blog, we will explore Enginetech oil pumps. Oil Pumps ensure that all moving parts in the engine are adequately lubricated, reducing friction, wear, and overheating. Proper lubrication is crucial for maintaining engine performance and extending its lifespan. Without a reliable oil pump, an engine could suffer from insufficient lubrication, leading to increased friction, potential engine damage, and costly repairs.

2 Versions of Pump

Unlike other product lines, Enginetech provides two versions of the same oil pump for various applications. Our premium oil pump part numbers start with the letters EP, while our value line pumps begin with EPK. The EPK pumps are our in-house brand known as Pressure King; however, it’s important to note that the name Pressure King does not necessarily indicate that it is a high-pressure pump.

In addition to standard volume and pressure options, we also offer high-pressure and high-volume oil pumps in both lines. This is reflected in the part numbers: high volume ends with HV, while high pressure concludes with HP. For example, the part number for the standard volume small block Chevy oil pump in the premium line is EP55, while the high-volume version is EP55HV.

Priming Your Oil Pump

Enginetech provides a diverse selection of pumps for both domestic and import vehicles. We have traditional oil pumps driven by a gear on the camshaft, as well as crank-driven pumps found in many modern engines. For either pump type, it is crucial to prime your pump using the correct engine oil recommended in your vehicle’s repair manual. No other lubricants or greases should be used for priming oil pumps.

Enginetech Warranty

Ensuring that your engine has the appropriate oil—free of foreign debris and with the right viscosity and pressure—is vital. Like all our engine components, we back both oil pump lines with a limited lifetime warranty, giving you confidence that your oil pump will perform effectively.
